Coffee Addiction - How Serious is It?

!±8± Coffee Addiction - How Serious is It?

You may not know it but coffee is the worlds most widely used stimulant come drug. This is due mainly to its popularity worldwide. The symptoms of coffee addiction are allot like those of many recreational drugs used in today's society, such as the following:-

Loss of sleep, Increased blood pressure, Can raise blood cholesterol levels, Deplete the levels of vitamin 'B' in the body, Depression, Chronic headaches, Increased levels of blood sugar, Irritation of the bladder and stomach.

Caffeine

The ingredient within coffee that makes it addictive is caffeine. Researchers and some health conscious individuals have for some time now been studying the effects that caffeine can have on the body. They have found that it acts in much the same way as alcohol and nicotine in that they all over-stimulate the adrenal gland. In doing so they make you hypersensitive (i.e. hyper) thus leading to a natural high. This is why most people find that drinking coffee first thing in the morning is great for waking you up. It's not actually a bad way to start your day but things can get out of hand and when consumption gets too excessive, just like any addiction, it can lead to problems and in a lot of cases depression.

As a natural substance that exists in certain plants, such as the coffee plant, it is only natural that coffee and caffeine go hand in hand. However, you can now buy most mass produced coffees in the decaf variety, which contains minimal amounts of caffeine, but it's worth noting the flavour of your coffee will not be the same.

Conclusion

Moderation - That's the key to most things in life. If you over indulge too often you risk becoming dependant. I love my coffee, but at the same time I like to take a brief break from drinking it too regularly. This not only helps me to avoid being dependent of caffeine but after about 3 maybe 4 days of not having a cup, I find that the sensation and tastes I get after my break are more intense and therefore more enjoyable. Let's face it, isn't that the reason why we drink coffee in the first place? I know I do.

The Keurig B60 Sucks! Or Does It?

!±8± The Keurig B60 Sucks! Or Does It?

The Keurig B60 Special Edition Coffee Brewer is a great addition to any kitchen. If you're a fan of coffee but hate to deal with all the annoying preparation that goes into making a good cup like grinding beans, putting in filters etc, then this unit is perfect for you.

It's main drawcard is it's revolutionary use of a thing called k-cups. These are little plastic cups that have high grade ground coffee inside them as well as a filter. You place them into the machine and it punches a hole in the top and bottom of the cup. Then it pours hot water into the top, starting the brewing process inside. The brewed coffee then trickles down into your cup just like a regular coffee maker. You can choose between a very wide variety of coffee styles from Kona to Arabica. They are available for sale from many stores including Bed, Bath and Beyond and of course Amazon.com.

The unit has a removable water container, drip tray, 3 brew size options, a descale warning and an automatic shutdown feature for safety. It also features an attractive silver panel on the top with a nice blue LCD display to inform you of it's key functions and processes.

This is one of the few coffee makers that actually makes really good coffee. It also requires almost zero cleaning and takes just a few minutes to make a cup. This is why the Keurig B60 Special Edition Coffee Brewer is one of the most popular home coffee makers in the world right now.
